浅谈如何提高小学英语语篇教学的有效性

伴随着小学英语学科的成长,我们的关注点从词汇教学到对话教学,再到语 篇教学。每一次的潜心探索都是一次成长和提高。我们研究的目的只有一个,那 就是:让孩子们学得更好,让小学英语这一学科“飞”得更高。步入高年级, 《牛 津小学英语》课本的语篇就变得较长,容量较大,语篇中涉及一定量的生词、句 型以及文化背景知识,许多教师觉得语篇教学难以把握。难教、怕教成为教师们 的共识。因此,如何提高小学英语语篇教学的有效性成为教师共同关注的话题。

一、小学英语语篇教学的内涵
1. 语篇及语篇教学的概念 所谓“语篇”,即 discourse。对于“discourse”的概念, 《牛津高级英汉双 解词典》对此作了明确的解释,即“the use of language in speech or writing in order to produce meaning; language that is studied,usually in order to see how the different parts of a text are connected”。由此可见,任 何以特定文体整体呈现的语言材料的教学,在广义上都是语篇教学。这就包括各 种文体的语篇教学,散文、诗歌、戏剧对白、说明文、记叙文、论说文、应用文 等,也包括中国的对联和日本的只有十七音节的俳句。依照这样的概念界定,即 使是最简单的英语对话材料也因该放在语篇教学的高度去对待和处理。 语篇教学则是指在具体语境中教学单词和句型,主张把单词融入句子中教学, 从整体人手,展现给学生完整的语言概念。对于小学英语教学来说,首先要培养 的是学生的听说能力,当学生有了一定的听说基础后,就需要不失时机的加强阅 读教学。进入小学英语学*的高年级阶段,语篇教学已经是日常英语教学的最基 本模式。 2. 语篇教学的意义 语篇教学的主要意义在于: ⑴ 培养学生从整体上(结合上下文及语言信息的相关语境)正确把握语篇信 息的能力,而不是只看到局部,以避免望文生义现象的产生。 (如:there 的语义)

⑵ 培养学生结合上下文对具体语境中的生词的词义做出合理推断的能力。 (如 6A Unit1 Public signs 中的 E 部分:It says,“PLEASE KEEP OFF THE GRASS. FINE ¥10.” Now,you should give me ten Yuan.中的“fine”的词义推断。 ) ⑶ 培养学生运用语篇文本信息解决问题的能力。如,“任务型阅读”。 ⑷ 培养学生的英语写作能力和发展学生的话语交际能力,丰富学生的话语表 达内容与方式。 基于以上几点,我认为语篇教学直接作用于学生听说读写及思维能力的生成。 而我们现行的英语课本中,每一篇英语课文都具有很好的背景环境。我们应该从 文章背景着手,抓住其中关键词,从小培养学生的英语阅读理解能力。如果纯粹 的停留在教文章中的单词、句子、片段等知识点而忽略了文章的本身的情境和文 化作为支撑,必将影响学生对于文章的理解。因此,我们必须研究教材,设计好 每单元的语篇教学。

二、提高语篇教学有效性的方法初探
1. 分析学情的“有效性”——明确目标 教师在拿到一篇语篇材料时,应该首先会对教材、学情做一个详细的分析, 做到心中有数。例如 6A Unit 6 Holidays Part A 这段语篇的教学对象是六年级 的学生,学生已学过一般现在时态、一般过去时中的 be 动词的过去式、规则动词 的过去式及少数不规则动词的过去式。本单元围绕“谈论节日里所做的事”这一 话题展开教学活动。这是一个学生十分感兴趣的话题,教师可在课前布置学生搜 集有关东西方节日风俗、节日的时间和人们通常会有什么活动。在明确这个语篇 中的教学目标、分析了学情后,就可以对教学内容进行有效、精美的设计。 2. 指导预*的“有效性”——有备而学 《新课程标准》指出:在英语教学中,教师要有意识地帮助学生形成适合自 己的学*策略,帮助学生有效地使用学*策略,不仅有利于他们把握学*的方向、 采用科学的途径、提高学*效率,而且还有助于他们形成自主学*的能力,为终 身学*奠定基础。”因此教师需加强预*指导,使学生有所了解、有所准备地进 行语篇学*。对于一般性的文章,教师可让学生听录音、跟读语篇、适当翻译中 文意思,划出自己不理解的词组与句子, 。有的比较简单易懂的对话文章,就可让 学生划出问句,再根据问句先找找答案。对于一些有趣味性、文化性较强的语篇, 教师可先让学生先了解相关文化。如 5B Unit8 At the weekends 中 E 部分,语篇
